FLEMING'S FINAL FRIENDSHIP TOURNAMENT

Ballaghaderreen's Sean Fleming makes his final appearance as an Irish U-21 at the 4 Nation Youth Friendship Trophy Tournament in Dublin this weekend May 22-24th

. It is Sean's seventh successive year involved in this 15-a-side event, which sees the best young players England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Rep. of Ireland going head to head for the three-day fest. This year sees the Irish team field a very strong team with players from 9 counties. Along with Sean, Roscommon will have four other representatives. Ballinaheglish's David Concannon, Mark Finneran, Thomas and Gary Concannon have all played for Ireland at Youth or U-21 level. They are all wished every success. A number of players, who participated in this event in the past, have played in recent World Championships including Northern Ireland's Darly Gurney (Lakeside 2009). Also Kildare's Shane O Connor at the Alexandra Palace (2009) and England's Kirk Shepherd World Final Runner up in 2008.

THE CONNAUGHTS
Creaton's run in The Connaught Darts Championships came to an end with a quarterfinal defeat to Reid's of Newport last Monday night in Walsh's, Charlestown. The Loughglynn team were last year’s runners up. Creaton's took the opening game and led 2-1 at the break. But Reid's, winners from 2002-2007, started the singles well and ended up 5-3 winners.
