Spells’s had an unbeaten November and so far have made a good start in December in The Hannon's Hotel Roscommon Darts League. A 6-1 win over The Claypipe of Knockcroghery on November 7th was followed a week later by a 4-3 win in Elphin. Creaton's of Loughglynn came to town on November 21st where the homeside emerged 4-3 victors.
A trip to Roscommon on November 26th saw Spell's take another 4-3 win. And last week Spell's had a deserved 5-2 win over Kate's in Castlerea. In the past five games Spell's have won 23 games conceding 12. And won 81 legs conceding 39. Spell's remain top of the League for the moment and play their final home game Friday night the 12th of December. In a repeat of last years final McDermott's of Ballinaheglish are the opposition. The 6th annual Tommy Kenny Cup takes place in Creaton's Bar, Loughglynn, next Sunday the 14th of December in Creaton's Bar, Loughglynn, starting at 5pm. It has been a well-supported event in its previous five runnings and has produced 4 different winners visiting 3 different parts of the county. Knockcroghery's Jimmy Reilly was the first winner of The Kenny Cup in 2003. In 2004 and 2005 it was Loughglynn's Sean Finan, who claimed the back-to-back title. In 2006, Finan's efforts for a three in a row were stopped by Ballaghaderreen's Martin Fleming, who went on to win the Cup. Last year, Knockcroghery player Mick Egan won the Cup after a top class final against the Kenny Cup ''nearly man'' Sean Fleming, who has lost three Kenny Cup finals in a row. All 4 previous winners and a host of other players from across the county are expected to take part.
