For a Look at whats in the cinemas at the moment.
CHÉRI *** Michelle Pfeiffer is back in the corset and Oscar-worthy territory in the period drama 'Chéri'. STAR TREK **** Has the potential to convert even the staunchest of opposition. FIGHTING *** You don't have to be the best 'Murder, She Wrote' sleuth to deduce that this is not a period drama - but it does have its mysteries. CORALINE **** A children's story that is not afraid to be scary and even at times slightly disturbing. IS ANYBODY THERE? **** Michael Caine gives a surprising, egoless performance - a cinematic experience to savour. X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE *** As Wolverine, Jackman is, as ever, in superb shape and coolness personified. STATE OF PLAY **** A political/newspaper thriller that sits comfortably among the genre's greats. SHIFTY **** Writer-director Eran Creevy's feature debut is a stylish and affecting look at male friendship and untapped potential OBSERVE AND REPORT *** A decidedly dark, grubby and unique piece of black comedy that will delight, offend and perplex viewers. FAST & FURIOUS ** There are fast cars aplenty, but this is seriously lacking in personality and flair. I LOVE YOU, MAN *** If you liked the Ben Stiller-Philip Seymour Hoffman dynamic in 'Along Came Polly', you're going to get a kick out of Paul Rudd and Jason Segel here. LET THE RIGHT ONE IN **** A new cult classic. FIFTY DEAD MEN WALKIN **** Superbly cast and directed, '50DMW' is a humane, realistic depiction of life at the height of the Troubles. TONY MANERO *** This is only a first date movie if you only want there to be a first date. MONSTERS VS ALIENS *** The sci-fi comedy is set to entertain adults and kids alike with its combination of wacky humour and affectionate references to classic sci-fi movies. |
