In last month’s edition of The Ballagh Advertiser, Noel D Walsh’s article comprised quotations or ‘takes’ from various celebrities and notable figures. One such quotation was taken from Tommy Tiernan’s comedy act. We apologise if this quoted joke, which referred to the death and resurrection of Jesus, offended any of our readers.
It was not the Advertiser’s intention to cause any offence when we published the joke. We understand now that the comedy of Tommy Tiernan may not be to the taste of all our readers and, as such, will take more consideration when selecting and editing pieces in the future. Again, on behalf of the Advertiser, we apologise to all those who considered the joke in poor taste and disrespectful. |
