BICENTENARY MOTTO WINNERS

ST. NATHY’S COLLEGE
1810 – 2010
A Proud History : A Bright Future

Congratulations to the two First Year students of St. Nathy’s College for their success in a recent competition to find the best motto to mark the Bicentenary of the College in 2010. The competition was sponsored by local business, First Class Office Supplies in Ballaghaderreen.

From the hundreds of entries received, the first prize of a voucher for €150 went to Macauley Fumagalli (Class 1E) for his entry: St. Nathy’s College 1810 – 2010; A Proud History – A Bright Future. Second prize of a voucher for €100 went to Shane Hardiman (Class 1D) for his entry: St. Nathy’s College 1810 – 2010; 200 Years of Nurturing Potential. Their prizes were awarded recently by Micheal Frain, CEO of First Class Office Supplies. Macauley’s winning motto will now become the official motto for the College’s bicentenary celebrations next year. Congratulations and well done to the two winners.

At the moment the history of the College is being researched and written. Staff member, Xandra Kilduff, has undertaken this very onerous task and is making great progress. Xandra hopes to have her work published and available in time for 2010. At present she is seeking any old photographs or paper cuttings relating to the College or town of Ballaghaderreen. Material can be dropped into the College office for her or Xandra can be contacted through the College office at (094) 9860010.
